Official Plastic BanAt the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITEOn 1st November 2010, as part of the campaign to raise awareness about the disposable plastic ban in the Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhgaya, Bihar, India. Sacred Earth Trust, faciitated workshops in Jean Amitabh School for Dalit Children on plastic pollution and they made placards displaying the message "WE VOTE NO TO DISPOSABLE PLASTICS". There were examples displayed of alternative solutions to disposable plastics such as cloth bags, clay cups and leaf plates to replace the plastic and polystyrene products used daily for offerings by the visitors and pilgrims to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is said to be the place where Buddha gained enlightenment. In collaboration with Iris Cheung from Greenpeace International, Jean Amitabh School and Tergar Monsatery in Bodhgaya.
