BANNING PLASTIC IN BODHGAYA

Support for Banning of Plastic in Bodhgaya 2009

The waste pollution on the land of BodhGaya is mainly consisting of plastic bags, food packaging, and other non- bio-degradable polyethylene products.



A petition was set up to support the ban of plastic bags and was signed by over 7000 local and international people. 



The team consist of an eclectic mix of volunteers from all over the world and Buddhist monks from the Himalayan regions. Giving a diverse setting for interaction and dialogue about the situation in Bodh Gaya but also about the environmental issues concerning other locations around the world.



This petition will be presented to the local government bodies, to request direct action cooperation on this matter.
